TG Spotlight: Topher Witt
Job Title/Role: Solution Developer
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I’m originally from a small town in northern Wisconsin called Glidden. When I was little we moved to Chilton Wisconsin, in the Fox Valley.
Q: What career path did you choose for yourself as a child?
A: After reading every Magic School Bus book I could get my hands on, I wanted nothing more than to become a scientist.
Q: What's your favorite TV show?
A: The reboot of Battlestar Galactica is pure genius.
Q: Where is your favorite vacation spot?
A: I love traveling through Europe, especially the Scandinavian countries. Two years ago my family and I visited the old family farm on the Danish island of Bornholm. It had been in the family since the 1500’s.
Q: Is there anything on your bucket list??
A: Someday I’d like to walk on the Kings Walkway (El Caminito del Rey) in Spain. Built in 1905, its a concrete path clinging to a cliff face, far far above the canyon floor.
Q: Share one thing you want people to remember most about you.
A: That I always wish the best for everyone.
Q: What do you love best about your job?
A: The folks here are the best.
Q: What has been your best experience at TG so far?
A: Implementing a RCP Plugin that adds functionality to Talend Open Studio. This was a highly satisfying project. Getting under the hood and figuring out how Talend ticks was a blast.
Q: What technologies have you worked with or enjoy working with?
A: Among other things I have experience working with Java, Eclipse RCP, Karaf, Camel, ActiveMQ, CXF, Talend and Hadoop. Java is my first love.
